Procedures on the Breast
Breast Augmentation: Breast augmentation can enhance your appearance, improve your self-confidence, and broaden your ability to wear different clothing by changing the shape and size of your breasts to better match your body style. Breast augmentation is also used to rebalance a voluptuous figure, correct lost volume resulting from age or pregnancies, and balance asymmetrical breasts.
Breast Lift: Over time, the effects of gravity along with the loss of the skin’s natural elasticity begins to have an effect on the appearance of a woman’s breasts. These factors, combined with pregnancies and nursing will often cause the breasts to lose their youthful shape and firmness. A breastlift, or mastopexy, is a surgical procedure to raise and reshape sagging breasts. The procedure can also reduce the size of the areola (the darker skin surrounding the nipple). Breast implants inserted in conjunction with a mastopexy procedure can increase both firmness and size.
Breast Reduction: Large, pendulous breasts may cause a woman to potentially experience various medical problems caused by the excessive weight of the breast tissue. Problems with posture, skeletal deformities, back and neck pain, and skin irritations are common with this condition. Bra straps often leave indentations in the shoulder area. Many women, especially teenage girls, are very self-conscious because of their unusually large breasts. With breast reduction surgery, women of all ages are able to have breasts that are better shaped and in proportion.
Gynaecomastia Surgery: Although rarely discussed, enlarged male breasts is a common condition. Gynecomastia affects approximately 40 to 60 percent of men. There is no known cause, although there has been some correlation with various drugs or medical conditions.
Men who feel self-conscious about their appearance are helped with breast-reduction surgery. The procedure removes fat and/or glandular tissue from the breasts, and in extreme cases removes excess skin, resulting in a contoured chest that is flatter and firmer.
Facial Rejuvenation
Eyelid Surgery: Droopy upper eyelids and puffy bags under the eyes can make you look older and more tired than you feel. “Blepharoplasty” or eyelid surgery is the most commonly performed facial plastic surgical procedure. By removing small amounts of excess skin and fat one can transform the eyelid region to a more youthful and refreshed look.
Brow Lift: A forehead lift or “browlift” is a procedure that restores a more youthful, refreshed, and cheery look to the forehead, eye brows and upper eyelid areas. By removing excess skin and muscle, the procedure corrects drooping brows, improves the horizontal lines and furrows that can make you look angry, sad or tired, and tightening the skin of the upper eyelid. The incisions are well hidden along the frontal hairline or in the hair, and with the use of an endoscope (a small camera that allows the procedure to be performed with minimal incisions), the incisions are almost impossible to see. The particular type of incision to be used is dependent on your goals and desires. Also, a forehead lift is often performed in conjunction with eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) or a facelift to provide a smoother, overall balanced look to the eyes and face.
Rhinoplasty: Rhinoplasty is performed to change the appearance of the nose to be more aesthetic and pleasing. Sometimes the hump is removed, usually the nose is thinned out at the tip and slightly elevated. It is usually necessary to narrow the nose at the time of surgery. A splint and packing are removed by the 5th day and most people are presentable in approximately a week to 10 days. If you have difficulty breathing, your insurance may pay for a portion of the procedure.
Ear Surgery: Ear surgery or otoplasty is typically performed to set prominent ears back closer to the head, or to reduce the size of large ears. Surgery may be helpful for lop ear,” “cupped ear” and “shell ear, large or stretched earlobes, and lobes with large creases and wrinkles. The operation can be performed on children as young as four years of age when the ears are fully grown. The procedure lasts from two to three hours and may be performed in a hospital, office-based facility or an outpatient surgery center under general or local anesthesia.
Lip enhancement: Full and vivacious lips have always been recognized as aesthetically important features. Some of us, however, are born with thin, ill-defined lips. But the appearance of our lips is now within our control. Fine lines and wrinkles, thin lips and a drooping corner of the mouth are all areas that can be aided with injectable fillers such as hyaluronic acid containing products such as Juvederm or Belotero. The market is ever changing, with new products appearing rapidly. Care is individualized to provide a safe and effective treatment option.
Chin augmentation: Chin surgery, also known as mentoplasty, is a surgical procedure to reshape the chin either by enhancement with an implant or reduction surgery on the bone. Many times a plastic surgeon may recommend chin surgery to a patient having nose surgery in order to achieve facial proportion, as the size of the chin may magnify or minimize the perceived size of the nose. Chin surgery helps provide a harmonious balance to your facial features so that you feel better about the way you look.
Laser skin treatment and Intense pulse light treatment: Laser resurfacing, in principle, produces younger looking skin in a similar way as does a chemical peel, and is used to remove areas of damaged or wrinkled skin, minimize the appearance of fine lines, and is also effective in treating facial scars or areas of uneven pigmentation. The Fractionated lasers have less downtime. Weekend rejuvenation treatments may include a microlaser peel and BBL treatment or fractionated laser treatment. Skin tightening, acne and hair removal are also easily provided with the state of the art system in Dr Niazi’s office.
Nonsurgical procedures
Botox Cosmetic: It seems like everybody is talking about BOTOX© cosmetic, the highly effective, non-surgical procedure that can dramatically reduce your toughest wrinkle. BOTOX© is used on the upper portion of the face and targets the wrinkles on the forehead, between the eyebrows’ and the crow’s feet.
One ten-minute treatment, a few tiny injections, can reduce wrinkles that took years to form. BOTOX© is a natural purified protein produced by a bacterium that works by relaxing the muscles that cause wrinkles. BOTOX© is FDA approved and minimally invasive with no downtime or recovery. BOTOX© treatments typically last between 3-4 months.
Xeomin: Similar to Botox but newer on the market and approved by the FDA for use in the Glabellar frown line area. The indications, dosage and treatment are exactly the same as for Botox. The product does not have to be refridgerated which is different from Botox and also does not carry a 150 dalton protein in its structure therefore there are less chances of the body making antibodies to the product and the product losing its effectiveness.
Hyaluronic acid injections (Juvederm & Belotero): These soft tissue fillers are viscoelastic gels made of hyaluronic acid that allow quick and noticeable corrections without the need of a skin test. They are injected just under the skin’s surface at intervals along the wrinkle until the right amount is achieved. Soft tissue fillers can be used to “fill” and smooth out deep facial furrows, acne scars, and smile lines. They can also be used to enhance the border of the lips for those who desire a fuller look. Treatments take less than half an hour, and may require a local anesthetic to numb the area. These are classified as temporary fillers.
Semi-permanent & Permanent or Long term injectable fillers: Radiesse is classified as a semi-permanent filler and provides excellent contour correction for nasolabial folds but it also has a roll in augmentation of the cheek area and correction of the tear trough deformity. Artefill is classified as a permanent filler but few practices carry it. It is significantly more expensive than other fillers and also needs pre-injection testing to rule out adverse reactions.
